Widener University School of Law Dean Linda L. Ammons today announced the fall 2008 dean's list of students for the Delaware campus. Students named to the list earned a grade point average in the top 20 percent of their class and division for the semester. The students are working toward Juris Doctor degrees. They include:

Widener Law graduates become members of Pennsylvania Bar

Some of the region's best and brightest new attorneys took their oaths and became full-fledged members of the Pennsylvania bar recently in a ceremony organized for graduates of Widener Law. The school celebrates this point of pride with special Widener-only events, where alumni assemble to take their oaths alongside friends they made during their years of study. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations coordinates the ceremonies. The 26 new attorneys sworn at the Supreme Court courtroom in the Pennsylvania capitol Nov. 18 heard remarks from Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Thomas G. Saylor and Judge Richard A. Lewis, president judge of the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. Widener Law Dean Linda L. Ammons also attended. "I am immensely proud of these fine new lawyers. Seeing them take the oath, with their proud families and friends looking on, makes this occasion one of the highlights of our year at Widener Law," Ammons said. "I congratulate them and wish them continued success as they put their educations to work helping the public." Alumni who were sworn in to the Pennsylvania bar included:

Widener Law graduates become members of Pennsylvania Bar

Some of the region's best and brightest new attorneys took their oaths and became full-fledged members of the Pennsylvania bar recently in a ceremony organized for graduates of Widener Law. The school celebrates this point of pride with special Widener-only events, where alumni assemble to take their oaths alongside friends they made during their years of study. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations coordinates the ceremonies. The 25 new attorneys sworn at City Hall in Philadelphia on Dec. 3 heard remarks from U.S. District Judge C. Darnell Jones II of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Other jurists who attended included Judge Joel S. Johnson, '91, of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Family Division, Judge Margaret Murphy, '77, of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Domestic Relations Division and Judge Esther Sylvester, president judge emeritus of the Court of Judicial Discipline. Widener Law Dean Linda L. Ammons also attended. "I am immensely proud of these fine new lawyers. Seeing them take the oath, with their proud families and friends looking on, makes this occasion one of the highlights of our year at Widener Law," Ammons said.
