Widener Education Students Open Little Free Library in Chester

Widener University Center for Education students have created a mini library to provide Chester residents with easy, free access to new books. The Little Free Library - erected on the corner of Melrose Ave. and E. 17th St. - officially opened on Saturday, Jan. 23.

Spring break presented international and domestic travel opportunities for Widener Unviersity students to experience new cultures and make an impact on the lives of others. Nearly 60 students traveled with the Alternative Spring Break program, organized through Office of Student Affairs, to service sites around the United States.

Widener University Students Volunteer to Make First Community Tech Day a Success

The Widener University Computer Science Department recently organized a Community Tech Day as a way to give back to the Chester community using the technical skill sets of its faculty, staff, and students. Student volunteers helped participating Chester community members get their electronic devices working to the best of their ability.

Nicolette Epifani is First to Major in Sociology with a Civic Engagement and Social Change Concentration at Widener University

Nicolette Epifani had become immersed in service since arriving on Widener's campus as a member of the Presidential Service Corps. The idea that she could also focus her coursework on making a difference appealed to her. Her instinct told her that this was the major for her. Now as a sophomore, Epifani is Widener's first sociology major with a civic engagement and social change concentration.
