In its fifth year, the program recognized 158 students from high schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware who demonstrated courage and leadership within their communities.

Six Widener University Freshmen Named Apogee Scholars

Seven Widener University freshmen have been named Apogee Scholars by the Oskin Leadership Institute at Widener for their high potential for leading change on campus and in their communities. The students are also recipients of the Widener High School Leadership Award and received a $20,000 scholarship to attend Widener.

Widener University Freshmen Selected for Presidential Service Corps/Bonner Leader Program

Fifteen incoming freshmen at Widener University have been selected for the Presidential Service Corps/Bonner Leaders Program. Select freshmen are chosen each year for the Presidential Service Corps/Bonner Leader Program based on their high school academic record, commitment to serving their communities, and leadership potential. Students in the program volunteer 300 hours of service with a community partner in the city of Chester each year, and commit to an annual international service trip for alternative spring break. In addition, students participate in training and enrichment activities that help them develop leadership skills. The following incoming freshmen from the area were selected this year:
