Thirty-five Widener University students completed the Leadership Certificate Program offered through the Oskin Leadership Institute.

Five Widener University students were commissioned as a second lieutenants in the U.S. Army through the ROTC program at Widener University.

A seven-member team from Widener University had a strong showing recently in the second annual Collegiate Leadership Competition. The team finished second among six teams at the competition held April 8-9 at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Widener University, one of the nation's premier universities for civic engagement and applied leadership, today announced the winners of the Widener University High School Leadership Awards. In its fifth year, the program recognized 158 students from high schools in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware who demonstrated courage and leadership within their communities.

Widener University senior Nicole Crossey recently traveled to our nation's capital to take part in a student panel presented by The New American Colleges and Universities, of which Widener is a member. The event aimed to showcase NAC&U member institutions' approach to teaching and learning, which is the integration of liberal education, professional studies and civic engagement to prepare students for careers and lives as contributing, global citizens.

Disha Joshi of Philadelphia, Pa., a student in the joint clinical psychology doctorate and master of business administration program at Widener University, has been named the recipient of the General and Mrs. John H. Tilelli Leadership Fellowship.

Five Widener University students named to Dauntless Battalion ROTC Ranger Challenge Team

The Army ROTC Dauntless Battalion at Widener University welcomed 25 cadets from Widener this fall for one of the finest leadership training programs in the world.

Area recipients of the High School Leadership Award recently completed free leadership training through the Oskin Leadership Institute at Widener University.

Several Widener University Army ROTC cadets completed leadership training courses at military bases throughout the country.

Seven Widener University freshmen have been named Apogee Scholars by the Oskin Leadership Institute at Widener for their high potential for leading change on campus and in their communities. The students are also recipients of the Widener High School Leadership Award and received a $20,000 scholarship to attend Widener.

Fifteen incoming freshmen at Widener University have been selected for the Presidential Service Corps/Bonner Leaders Program. Select freshmen are chosen each year for the Presidential Service Corps/Bonner Leader Program based on their high school academic record, commitment to serving their communities, and leadership potential. Students in the program volunteer 300 hours of service with a community partner in the city of Chester each year, and commit to an annual international service trip for alternative spring break. In addition, students participate in training and enrichment activities that help them develop leadership skills. The following incoming freshmen from the area were selected this year:
