Wilson Gualpa of Seaford recognized at Widener Law student awards ceremony

2014 May 13

The Widener Law campus in Wilmington, Del. held its annual student awards ceremony Wednesday, April 23 in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom of the Main Law Building. The annual event honors students for academic and leadership achievements.

Widener University President James T. Harris III attended the program and told students their accomplishments, amid the rigors of law school, are remarkable. Law, he said, is one of the "highest callings."

"There is always a need for justice. Lawyers make sure justice gets served," Harris said.

Those honored included:

Wilson Gualpa of Seaford, Del., 19973.

He received the Delaware Association of Lawyers’ Spouses Scholarship, awarded to a student living in the Delaware community who promotes the understanding of the law among the citizens of the state of Delaware, or serves the community by providing legal service to citizens of Delaware.

Gualpa will graduate in May 2015 and plans to take the Delaware bar exam. He would like to practice family law either in a private law firm or a public legal services firm.

He is the son of Agustin and Ana Gualpa of Seaford.
