Widener Law recognizes Megan McGovern of Hockessin for achievement

Widener University School of Law held its annual Student Awards Ceremony for the Delaware campus on Wednesday, April 15. Awards were handed out in the school's Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom. The honorees included:

Megan McGovern of Hockessin, Del., 19707.

She received the Hon. Joseph W. deFuria Commencement Award, for outstanding service to the law school and high academic achievement. She also received an outstanding student service award, given annually to graduating students who have been actively involved in the Widener community and who have been of outstanding service to the school. Finally, she was recognized for holding a prestigious Josiah Oliver Wolcott Fellowship, in which she clerked for a Delaware Supreme Court justice during her final year of law school. Fellows have exceptional academic credentials and possess excellent research and writing skills.

McGovern will graduate May 16. She plans to take the Delaware bar exam and will clerk for Judge Charles Butler of the Superior Court of Delaware. She is the daughter of Patrick and Christine McGovern of Hockessin.
