Widener Law graduates become members of Pennsylvania Bar

2008 Dec 17

Some of the region's best and brightest new attorneys took their oaths and became full-fledged members of the Pennsylvania bar recently in a ceremony organized for graduates of Widener Law.

The school celebrates this point of pride with special Widener-only events, where alumni assemble to take their oaths alongside friends they made during their years of study. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations coordinates the ceremonies.

The 26 new attorneys sworn at the Supreme Court courtroom in the Pennsylvania capitol Nov. 18 heard remarks from Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Thomas G. Saylor and Judge Richard A. Lewis, president judge of the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas.

Widener Law Dean Linda L. Ammons also attended.

"I am immensely proud of these fine new lawyers. Seeing them take the oath, with their proud families and friends looking on, makes this occasion one of the highlights of our year at Widener Law," Ammons said. "I congratulate them and wish them continued success as they put their educations to work helping the public."

Alumni who were sworn in to the Pennsylvania bar included:

John John of Washington, D.C., 20008, who graduated from Widener's Harrisburg campus in May 2008.
