Hostetter of York represents Widener University at European Union simulation event in Belgium

2016 Feb 8

Aidan Hostetter of York, Pennsylvania, a member of the Class of 2019 at Widener University, recently traveled to Antwerp, Belgium, to participate in EuroSim, a simulation of the governing process of the European Union. Hostetter, majoring in international relations and French at Widener, prepared with classmates prior to the simulation to understand the focus of this year's EuroSim: the Dublin IV immigration and asylum regulation. At the last plenary of the simulation, the EuroSim participants voted to pass the regulation.

Widener University is one of only 22 schools in the world that participates in EuroSim. The experience requires students to conduct rigorous research on the chosen topic, which always mimics a real-world issue, and their roles and the countries they represent in the four-day simulation.
