Delaware Law School recognizes Jennifer Buckley for achievement

Widener University Delaware Law School held its annual Student Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 20. Awards were handed out in the school's Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom. The honorees included:

Jennifer Penberthy Buckley of Hockessin, Del., 19707.

She received the Alfred Avins Memorial Scholarship, given for the highest average in constitutional law; the William J. Conner Memorial Scholarship, given to a student who has demonstrated interest in, and aptitude for, administrative law; the William Prickett Corporate & Business Law Scholarship, given to recognize excellence in corporate law and civil litigation studies for a graduate who plans to take the Delaware bar exam; and the George B. Lindsay Foundation Award, for significant achievement in legal research and writing. Finally, she was recognized for holding a prestigious Josiah Oliver Wolcott Fellowship, in which she clerked for a Delaware Supreme Court justice during her final year of law school. Fellows have exceptional academic credentials and possess excellent research and writing skills.

Buckley is the class valedictorian and will graduate May 21. She plans to take the Delaware bar exam and has accepted a clerkship with Justice Karen L. Valihura of the Delaware Supreme Court. She is married to Kevin Buckley and is the daughter of DaWayne and Robin Penberthy of Bluffton, S.C.
