Daniel Garman of Yardley Completes Army ROTC Leadership Course

Daniel Garman of Yardley, Pa., a junior civil engineering major at Widener University and a cadet in the Widener Army ROTC Dauntless Battalion, recently completed Airbourne School at Fort Benning, Ga., and the Engineering Internship Program at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Airborne School is a three-week course that teaches soldiers the techniques involved in parachuting from airplanes and landing safely. The purpose of the training is to qualify cadets in the use of the parachute as a means of combat deployment and to develop leadership, self-confidence, and an aggressive spirit through mental and physical conditioning. The Engineering Internship Program for students enrolled in aerospace, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical or structural engineering programs.
