Brittany Giusini of Philadelphia recognized at Widener Law student awards ceremony

2014 May 13

The Widener Law campus in Wilmington, Del. held its annual student awards ceremony Wednesday, April 23 in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom of the Main Law Building. The annual event honors students for academic and leadership achievements.

Widener University President James T. Harris III attended the program and told students their accomplishments, amid the rigors of law school, are remarkable. Law, he said, is one of the "highest callings."

"There is always a need for justice. Lawyers make sure justice gets served," Harris said.

Those honored included:

Brittany M. Giusini of Philadelphia, Pa., 19145.

She received the William J. Conner Memorial Award for Administrative Law, given to a graduating student who demonstrates academic excellence, especially in administrative law, and who has an interest in public service. She also received an outstanding student service award, given annually to graduating students who have been actively involved in the Widener community and who have been of outstanding service to the school. In addition, Giusini received the dean's award, given to the graduating student who, in the opinion of the law dean, has demonstrated outstanding legal aptitude, exemplary service, significant leadership skills and the potential to become an outstanding member of the legal community. Finally, Giusini was recognized for holding a prestigious Josiah Oliver Wolcott Fellowship, in which she clerked for a Delaware Supreme Court justice during her final year of law school.

She will graduate May 17, 2014 and plans to take the Delaware bar exam. She will clerk for Delaware Supreme Court Justice Randy J. Holland.

Giusini is the daughter of Vincent and Dena Giusini of Philadelphia.
